Fields and Further Mechanics

2011 is approaching at such a fast rate. It seems like only yesterday that I arrived in England. I still vividly remember screaming with my friends every time I crossed the road.

2010 was a roller coaster ride for me. It was so full of ups and downs that it was... well, unbelievable. Here's a summary of each month.

January - Exams and the great Snowpocalypse. Had fun building igloos!
February - Saw Utada Hikaru, live! Toured the Oxbridge campuses :) Decided that Oxford wasn't as lovely lol
March - Went to Brunei Night. Had loadsa laughs :D
April - Went punting in Cambridge! We went down the 3rd Class lane! :(
May - Went to Lady Gaga's concert!
June - Finished with AS exams and took a plane home. Went to Singapore
July - Went for work attachment at Katok. Teaching was a nightmare, but I got to meet with HM and took pictures :D
August - Started driving lessons.
September - Got my driving license at 19yr1dy. Went back to UK. Met Juniors!
October - Sent off Personal Statement. Went to Thorpe Park :D
November - Halloween party! Beginning of university interviews.
December - Interviews, Interviews, Interviews. Christmas Dinner, holidays.

Now we're at December. What did I take out with me from 2010? Well,
  1. I love singing and acting and hence I joined Evita.
  2. I love dancing and hence I joined Marie and Elspeth's Dance Show
  3. I am not capable of keeping my room tidy every day. I am only capable of keeping it tidy every week.
  4. I know that people in school are wonderful. My Physics teacher might love female physicists, nonetheless I really appreciate her effort in giving me private tutorials just so that I won't drop Physics (when I was under a lot of UCAS stress)
  5. I learnt that living independently is much more awesome than living with others. And I love cooking.
  6. I also know that I'm still slacking off.
Currently I'm stuck learning Physics. My brain refuses to advance forward of Simple Harmonic Motion. I'm OK with the mechanics bit of Physics, but when it comes to theory I tend to go downhill. I love calculations but not theory. This is bad.

I have also managed to survive an entire term and not know how to do all my mathematics properly. Mechanics is confusing me but past year questions are easy. The work in the textbook is almost hellish to complete.

Core Maths is interesting. I hate differentiation and integration with a passion yet I can still solve it. After going to Maths Inspiration, I actually understood the use of Circular Motion and actually loved Physics.

So I guess there's a distinct overlap there. I never quite made that link. But it's OK, at least it re-ignited my passion for Physics.

I'll end this post with a toast to the upcoming 2011, and let's hope my life will be more drama-free from now onwards.
